BBC Free Smartphone Viruses

Last month have been filled for the BBC, have created a virus for smartphones of any kind.

No, the BBC team are not stupid and you have not joined the attackers, but was just an experiment.
The application was built using standard parts of the packages of software tools that developers use to make a program.

This malicious application makes it difficult to detect, experts say, as useful and legitimate programs use the same functions.

So he made a game of "X and 0" to mimic the type of applications that are frequently downloaded from the field sites. However, the game and steal personal information via e-mail he sent to an address created by the BBC reporter.

Application using 250 lines of code to record total of 1,500 contacts, SMS, phone location, all of them forwarded from the BBC.

Chris Wysopal, director of security firm Veracode, who worked with the BBC said that in terms of security, smartphones are at the same level that it had PCs in 1999.
Malicious application has been installed only on one device and was not released to the public.
All functions used in this game were legitimate, but some were converted into the privacy and security features that lezau smartphone holder.

What makes an application in the background could hardly be said or done by the user. Great manufacturers, Apple, Blackberry, Google generally check carefully what each application before publishing it in their online store.
On the other hand, some legitimate applications need to access contacts or SMS and differentiation is more difficult to do.

Founder site GetJar phone applications, said that separating the applications that access the personal information of those who legitimately use them in malicious way is difficult.

What should be done before installing an application?
First, do not just check the site to download, but also the producer application \ game.

Second, make backups of data from smartphones, which keep them in your PC.

A third aspect is the battery life.

If it consumes over night for no reason, is a sign that something in the phone "acting" in one way or another.

Last but not least, check your bill.

If you made calls to unknown numbers and charged high fees, ask your mobile operator or remove recently installed phone applications.
